This delicious french toast is a family favorite! Especially because it is both easy to make and delicious!
Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Then, mix in brown sugar and syrup, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Pour into a 9x13 baking dish and swirl the mixture to coat the bottom of the baking pan evenly.
Next, slice your bread into 1 inch thick slices, diagonally, and arrange in your baking dish in a single layer.
In a small bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, almond extract and salt. Pour over the bread and sprinkle cinnamon on top.
Then, cover and chill for at least 8 hours, to overnight.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Remove dish from the refrigerator and bring to room temperature.
Bake uncovered for 35-40 minutes in the preheated oven, until lightly browned.
